Why do I celebrate Chrstmas Day

1Co 13:13 Right now three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Today on earth , love is indeed the greatest!

For that purpose I still belive that getting together to celebrate our love for each other is indeed necessary. We look forward to it, we plan, we buy our gifts, we share our love and affection.

Praise GOD, praise Jesus and praise the Holy Spirit for giving us a nature of love!

However, to celebrate Christmas Day means so much more. Even as far back as 800 BC, Isaiah prophetize Jesus's birth and His everlasting rule of His kingdom (heaven and earth);

Isa 9:6-7
(6) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

(7) Of the growth of his government and peace there will be no end. He will rule over his kingdom, sitting on the throne of David, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of the Heavenly Armies will accomplish this.

In Mathews we read of Jesus's birth when the angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream telling Joseph to take Mary as his wife as "She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he is the one who will save his people from their sins." (Mat 1:21). And "there is no salvation by anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved." (Act 4:12)

So what is it that I want to celebrate on Christmas Day? I turned to scripture and found the following.

1Pe 1:3b-4
(3b) ......Because of his great mercy he has granted me (us) a new birth, resulting in an immortal hope through the resurrection of Jesus, the Messiah, from the dead (4) and to an inheritance kept in heaven for me (you) that can't be destroyed, corrupted, or changed.

1Pe 1:8-9
(8) Though I (you) have not seen him, I (you) love him. And even though I (you) do not see him now, I (you) believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, (9) because I am (you are) receiving the goal of my (your) faith, the salvation of my soul (your souls).

And in Jesus's own words;

Joh 14:1-3
(1) "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. (2) There are many rooms in my Father's house. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going away to prepare a place for you?
(3) And if I am going away to prepare a place for you, I will come back again and welcome you into my presence, so that you may be where I am.

So on Christmas Day I will ALSO proclaim the death of my Saviour Jesus Christ till the day that he comes.

1Co 11:23-26
(23) For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you—how the Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took a loaf of bread,

(24) gave thanks for it, and broke it in pieces, saying, "This is my body that is for you. Keep doing this in memory of me."

(25) He did the same with the cup after the supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. As often as you drink from it, keep doing this in memory of me."

(26) For as often as you eat this bread and drink from this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah! (1Pe 1:9).

Hallelujah

Amen

Lets pray every day

Jesus says that each day has enough troubles of its own (Mat 6:34) and we, as believers by faith alone, should take up the armor of GOD…..

EVERY DAY to protect us against the influence of the world (Efe:13-17).

Therefore Pray in the spirit.......EVERY MORNING and start your day with GOD's protection, his armor!

However also pray EVERY EVENING for all that you have said, done or thought that is not in accordance GOD's will.

Do this confidently by going to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and grace to help us. (Heb 4:13)
Believe! and let the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ clean you at the end of each day. Amen.
